Gared started selling their Pro series of basketball equipment about a year ago. This was their endevour into the premium high-end residential in-ground adjustable basketball goal market.

They are traditionally known for their institutional equipment including most notable, NBA backboards. Gared's residential equipment is not manufactured by the same company as their institutional equipment.

Gared is most well know for their blue color and rounded backboard corners. Recently they have done away with the rounded corners and blue markings. The have released their Elite, Ultra Champ, and Super Shot systems. These follow a more tradition path with square edges and black padding. The design of these systems looks much like a Goalrilla basketball goal.

There are several notable differences between Gared's basketball systems and the <a title="in-ground basketball hoops" href="http://www.basketballhoopguides.com/pages/listings/in_ground.html">Hoops Pro Dunk basketball hoops</a>. These differences are outlined below.

Gared does not offer tempered glass backboards in the Pro series while Hoops offers all backboard sizes in the heavier, better playing, and more durable tempered glass. To learn more about the differences between tempered glass and acrylic.

Gared basketball systems will adjust down to 7.5 feet. Most Hoops Pro Dunk systems will easily and infinitely adjust from 5' to 10' making them the perfect systems for young and demanding players alike.

Many believe Gared's Pro series basketball goals are less aesthetically pleasing than the Pro Dunk systems. Complaints include the childish and unprofessional rounded backboard corners and distracting backboard bracing.

The backboard padding used on Gared's Pro series systems is low quality compared to the Pro Dunk system's steel reinforced bolt on urethane skinned padding.

Gared Pro series systems do not come standard with gusset padding. Hoops' gusset padding helps protect players from rolling ankles and injuring themselves on the exposed pier bolts sticking up from the concrete base.
