History
The Dominator by Doman sports is a new product with a very limited track record. There is no proof that these systems can stand up to the aggressive play of demanding athletes or constant adjustment by youngsters. Not only is this goal unproven in the market but you'll also be paying a premium.
Exposed Pier
The system does not come with gusset padding. The bolts that anchor the system to the pier are exposed. This means rolling an ankle when driving in for a lay-up or falling onto the bolts becomes a big safety concern. All Hoops Pro Dunk® systems come with gusset padding at no extra charge. Hoops' first concern is the player's safety.
Small Pole
The dominator comes with a small pole to support their largest back board. Hoops has found that 5 inches does not support the NCAA gym quality backboard to our quality standards. Hoops offers the 8" square pole on their Pro Dunk Diamond system.
Unstable Backboard
The Dominator has only one connection point and a narrow H-frame bracket supporting the massive backboard. This makes rebounding from the edges of this backboard more unstable than the durable Pro Dunk design.
Short Extension Arms
If you're putting a court or would like full regulation arm extension, Hoops is the only one that offer a 5' extension arm on it Pro Dunk Diamond basketball goal. This allows you to set the pole back behind the baseline a foot and still get a regulation 4' extension. The Doman Dominators do not offer this.
Stainless Steel
All Hoops basketball equipment comes with stainless steel fasteners to avoid ugly rust streaks and erosion for added safety. The Dominators only come with regular steel botls that could possible erode over time and leave unsightly rust streaks down your clear backboard.
